New Sponsored Mods
It’s that time where we introduce new projects in the sponsored mod program! Our first set of picks for the year is ready for you to enjoy.
The ARK Sponsored Mod Program
is also now accepting applications for the next selection, you will be able to apply until April 5th. Don’t forget to submit your projects at https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/modding/apply-for-sponsorship/.
Fjördur is a beautiful map inspired by Norse culture and myth. Featuring 3 primary landmasses, a solid but carefully chosen range of biomes, and unique map structures. The authors have more planned for this map, so give it a try!
If you have ever just wanted more hair options on your ARK, Marnii has you covered. Not only will you find a couple dozen new hairstyles in this mod as well as new facial hair options, but also tools that make it even easier to give yourself some style!
Glacius is a challenging map focused on surviving the harsh elements of a frigid landscape. On Glacius you’ll facing challenging weather such as snowstorms and blizzards. It even comes with it’s own set of snow structures for players to build with!
Mods that expand the array of wildlife are always a joy to see. Prehistoric beasts adds a pretty significant set of new creatures in their own unique visual styles for players to enjoy, if you have been wanting to see some new faces around the island, you should give this mod a look!
New Sponsored Mod
Simple Spawners is a popular utility mod that makes it easy to customize maps to suit the desires and needs of your server. Having expanded from creature spawners the mod adds useful tools like setting up no-build zones, no-fly zones, nests, harvestable resources, radiation zones, and loot crate/beacon points. With Simple Spawners, you can get quite creative with how you customize your server map!
New Sponsored Mods
The Hunted is a mod that aims to emulate the difficulty of ARK to be more like its early development days. The Hunted has plans and development for features like territorial behavior, nesting, and new taming methods. If you don’t think you should feel safe in a survival game, this might be a mod you want to check out!
Dino Hoarders’ TLC
While not an official TLC for the game, it is always fascinating to see new artistic approaches and styles from our modding community. Dino Hoarders’ TLC has plans to do community TLCs on a lot of the game’s creatures with a unique art style! We look forward to seeing what is to come with this mod.
We’re a little late with the official announcement but this project was a late addition that started sponsorship in June! Tiamat is a beautiful map with a focus on the ocean, an often underutilized part of the world. The visual style of this map is fantastic and deserves a look, especially if you are interested in vibrant ocean areas.
New Sponsored Mods
Tired of dinosaurs? Of course, you aren’t, but sometimes we do want a little change in our diet. Dead Survival does just that, you can swap out the wildlife of the game with some … not… quite a life? Zombies… I’m trying to say you can have zombies. Lots and lots of zombies. Hordes of them even.
Roleplay Additional Items
RP communities have been a long time aspect of ARK, but sometimes our core structures can feel a bit insubstantial when you are trying to build a set for acting in. Roleplay Additional Items can add a lot more flourish to your locations from lighting structures and gear, to new taxidermy stations!
I’m pretty sure we have all dreamed of having our own backyard water slides and roller coasters. (Zen may have actually tried at one point, and failed… obviously) But now you can do just that in your base. Build that mine-cart roller-coaster that plows through your living room or a water-slide to the lava pools out back!
Castles, Keeps, and Forts: Remastered
CKF development went dormant for a little while the author went on a break. But it’s back, and getting a face-lift. The author is taking what they learned over the years and working on a remastered CKF (The original is still available). So far it’s looking great!
Sponsored Mod Updates
We are welcoming four new projects to the Sponsored Mod Program today! We hope to see these projects flourish and expand on the things that they do great.
Faith is a complete reenvisioning of The Island with new twists and creative ideas. If you would like to see an old favorite in a new face you should check out this labor of love.
Primal NPCs take some unique turns for an NPC mod, such as the ability to order them around via chat. The NPC game is evolving!
Prehistoric Structures offer another unique visual design for those that are interested in more primal structure designs.
Paintable Structures offers a more modern touch with an insane amount of customizability.
Between these two sets of structures, most players should be able to find something they love!
ARK Parados is an overhaul mod that offers a wide range of custom creature variants. Bright colors and unique mechanics are sure to be a treat for the eyes and the adventurous.
Sponsored Mod Program applications will open again on January 1st. We hope that everyone enjoys their winter break!
New Sponsored Mods
Finally, We have three new projects joining the Sponsored Mod Program today! We have a pretty interesting range of mod types this time for creatures and a utility mod for builders!
Mechanical steampunk beasts are on the loose! If you are a fan of the steampunk aesthetic, check out this mod which adds a range of new creatures to the game, with more brass than you can shake a stick at.
Do you wish that ARKs creatures had a bit more personality to them? This mod introduces new behaviors to the natural residents of the ARK. The number of creatures it modifies right now is relatively small, but the author is working to expand that.
Just got done building the perfect house and then found a better place to build? Maybe you just want ten more of that house?
This mod will let you do that, allowing players to save constructions and place them elsewhere.
Sponsored Mod Program Update
Hey everybody! Zen here with your dose of modding news!
I’m excited to announce a new addition to the Sponsored Mod Program this month. The joy of the hunt was always a significant aspect of ARK for me, and as far as I was concerned, taming was as much a part of that experience as the actual battle with a beast. I am delighted to see that someone has taken the mantle of modding that aspect with some significant changes. I am pleased to announce that the
Using this mod, you will find that taming has been changed from a battle to protect an unconscious creature while you tried to keep it drugged and stocked with food suppositories to the gauntlet of gaining a creature’s trust and trying to tame it in a way that imitates life a bit more.
Sponsored Mod Program Spotlight!
It’s another exciting month in the mod program as we look to introduce you to two new and exciting mods we are sure you will like! Over the past few months we’ve introduced new mods that revamp gameplay but this month we’ll be adding a content mod and a new map.
Maps have a way of rejuvenating your passion for a game and everyone loves additional content. Especially content that adds new functions to existing mechanics you’ve used since you first started surviving. Without further ado, here are the new mods entering the program!
This map is filled with vast open plains, open for you to build to your heart’s desire. The map has a slight fantasy feel but relies heavily on natural landscapes, dense forests, and amazing mountains. This will be one to keep an eye on for sure!
It’s the time of the month where we introduce some new and exciting mods from the community! This month we are happy to introduce some pretty unique mods to the program. During the course of the program, we’ve seen our share of maps, structure mods, and even a total conversion. We get excited when we see game modes like Urban Deathmatch or really well-thought-out ideas like Zoology get published!
Urban Death Match
We’ve always thought that ARK could serve as a good foundation for a team deathmatch mod. Those that aren’t new to the modding scene might remember Tribe Wars and the pre-match that started in a team deathmatch setting. Urban Deathmatch might be the choice for those who are looking for a similar game mode.
Spawn areas are predetermined and each spawn area has six crates that can be used to gear up your players. Be sure to give this a look if you are looking for some fun events to host on your server. Since the mod is a map extension, it shouldn’t affect any of your existing saves! Be sure to check it out!
Urban Death Match
A Workshop Item for ARK: Survival Evolved
By: Mod ID: 1107180668
Latest Update 03/31/19 Please see the patch notes thread..
We were really impressed when I got to check out Zoology. It’s one of those mod that just makes sense! Zoology adds a new element of discovery to the creatures you encounter on The Island. Ultimately, it changes how they act and behave and adds new and refreshing ways of interacting with wild and tamed creatures.
There’s a lot going on in this mod but essentially, wild and tamed creatures, have a level of morale and can suffer from stress, are intelligent enough (some of them) to flee from their predators, and predators will only hunt when hungry. It’s like a total conversion for the behavioral system of creatures!!
That’s all for this month. We’ll continue to keep an eye out for mods that are original and creative. We sincerely appreciate all the effort we are seeing from the modding community.

Sponsored Mod Program Update!
Here’s what Cedric had to say:
We are excited to announce some new changes to the Sponsored Mod Program for the month of August. It’s mind blowing seeing what our sponsored modders have accomplished in such a short time. As the program develops and the mods mature, we’ll be looking to see if any more mods have potential for a console release.
We are adding two new mods to the program this month. Keep in mind that originality and creativity is the way to get a mod sponsored. The two mods we are adding this month are two mods that are still early in development stages, but show lots of potential. Without further ado!
Dragonpunk: Tribe of Gods
Everyone here is really excited for what this Total Conversion will bring to gameplay. At the moment, this Total Conversion is split into several different mods, but there are plans to make it a one-stop shop. They are aiming to redefine the way ARK. Be sure to check out their website for more information!
In the meantime, you can check out the Mythical Creatures for a little preview of what’s to come, plus they’ll be dropping a new magic mod later this month!
Call of the Wild
I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to see new game modes being developed. Survival of the Fittest was originally a mod that was created in the dev kit. Call of the Wild summons a wave of creatures at a location you choose that are there for your blood. It reminds me of some of the popular wave-based game modes that are still popular in games today.
Right now, the sole focus is getting the mod stable, but I know there are some grand plans for this mod in the future.
That’s it for this month! Be sure to check out the mods steam workshop pages for information on social media. Most of the modders in the program are active on social media and will post a sneak peek of what’s to come.
